Collon, Lat. 53.46'52N, Long. 6.29'13W, altitude 150m is a picturesque village on the border of counties Louth and Meath. It is about 35 miles to Dublin on the N2 and about 7 minutes drive from the Boyne Cable Bridge on the M1. Nearby sites of interest include the World Heritage Sites of Newgrange, Dowth & Knowth on the River Boyne, Mellifont Abbey and Slane Castle. The current population, as per the 2002 census, is approx. 1500 .

A cdrom titled 'Collon, A Historic Village' was recently published. It is a unique and very effective way to get to know about the many locations and artifacts of historical interest in the collon area. It includes, amongst other items, many photographs, a short history of the village and list of names from the headstones in both old cemetaries. These can be purchased in the local shops.
An email server has been setup which allows users to receive emails sent to the collon.ie domain. These emails are then accessible by standard IMAP clients or via a web browser the mail.collon.ie. If you would like to use a @collon.ie email address just drop an email to webmaster@collon.ie.
